Professor Anand Chockalingam, MD, FACC is Cardiologist in Missouri. His primary research interests include diastolic heart failure (HFpEF or Stiff heart), obesity and stress cardiomyopathy, and holistic intuitive interventions for reversing cardiometabolic diseases. He has published over 70 original research papers in these areas. Professor Chockalingam collaborates with experts in mindfulness, behavioral psychology, exercise, and nutrition to develop strategies for improving the diet, exercise, and overall lifestyle of cardiac patients. He has also developed a unique program called "
Heartful Living" that aims to improve the cardiac health of patients in both the US and India. Since its inception in 2015, thousands of heart patients have benefited from this program.
In addition to his work with patients, Professor Chockalingam also partners with medical associations such as the American College of Cardiology to promote physician resilience. He is the founder of HiLife Journey, a non-profit online initiative taking CVD prevention to cardiac patients globally. Self-inquiry increases resilience among adolescents, inspires doctors to overcome burnout and guides cardiac patients to transform lifestyle. His book, Seeking Hunger, outlines mindful eating towards stress reduction and metabolic health. His research focuses on AI-enabled digital therapeutics, with the goal of reversing chronic diseases such as heart failure, diabetes, hypertension, fatty liver, kidney disease, and biological aging. Professor Chockalingam's work on mindful eating as a means of reducing stress and improving metabolic health has led to the first promising reports of reversing HFpEF diastolic heart failure.
